The Deputy Chief commands the Communications Division,
Criminal Investigations and
Public Safety Grants Coordinator Divisions of the department. The Office
of Professional Standards, Patrol, and
Support Services are under the command
of the Chief of Police.
The Office of Professional Standards investigates complaints
filed against police department employees in accordance with applicable
laws and union agreements. Additionally, this office is responsible for
policy development and implementation and serves as a point of coordination
for special projects. The office also ensures that the department maintains
its compliance with law enforcement accreditation standards as established
by the Commission for Florida
Law Enforcement Accreditation.
