What are the basics?

Although not required, most AmeriCorps Clearwater members are currently enrolled criminal justice students at St. Petersburg College, or prospective students, who want to serve the community and learn about law enforcement. They receive:

  • A modest living allowance
  • Health Care and Child Care
  • An educational award upon successful completion of service
  • Vocational experience in the field of law enforcement


Do I qualify for a member position?

YES , If you:

    • Are at least 18 yrs. of age
    • Have earned at least a standard high school diploma or GED
    • Can pass an extensive law enforcement background screening
    • Are a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident Alien
    • Have a strong desire to serve the community
