POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE
IN BURGLARY CASE
Clearwater Police are asking
for the public's help in locating a burglary suspect, announced
Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein.
The incident occurred on Normandy
Rd. in Clearwater on Monday, August 12 during the early morning
hours. Detectives report that an unknown dark skinned male subject
entered the residence and went to the bedroom of a sleeping female
juvenile and accosted her. She awoke and began struggling with
the intruder. The commotion awoke the juvenile's mother and when
confronted the intruder fled after crashing through a sliding
glass door.
The suspect is described as
a dark skinned male, approximately 5'09" - 5"11"
tall, weighing between 165 and 170 pounds, and approximately 22-28
years of age with dark short hair. He was last seen wearing a
short sleeve dark t-shirt and dark, baggy, over the knee length
shorts. The subject fled from the area in a southerly direction
on foot.
Police believe this is an isolated
incident, but are seeking any assistance in this case. The public

Police officials, utilizing the autodialer, sent a message to
residents in the area with the information contained in this release
on Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2002.
