Allegation
On April 13, 2023, Sergeant Campbell was on scene and approved the arrest of a subject under investigation for a petit theft that did not occur in the officer’s presence. The appropriate general order for the allegation is as follows:
Supervision (212.7) – Supervisory members (including acting supervisors) shall properly supervise subordinates, refer disciplinary charges, and take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary in accordance with agency procedures.
Disposition
Based on the facts documented in the administrative investigation, the Discipline Review Board sustained the allegations against Sergeant Campbell.
Discipline/Corrective Action
In accordance with progressive discipline guidelines, Sergeant Campbell received a letter of reprimand. In addition, Sergeant Campbell will receive remedial training and serve a 6-month suspension from S.W.A.T.
