Office of Professional Standards The Office of Professional Standards is responsible for processing all complaints, investigating allegations of misconduct by agency employees, maintaining compliance with law enforcement accreditation standards, conducting staff inspections, policy development, audits, and more.
Accreditation The Clearwater Police Department is accredited through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation as a means to ensure compliance with the highest standards of the law enforcement profession. The police department first attained its accreditation status in 1998.

Patrol Districts Police patrol operations are divided into three geographic districts. Each district is under the command of a police lieutenant, the District Commander.
Criminal Investigations Division The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for the follow-up investigation of crimes occurring within the city of Clearwater, the analysis of crime trends and the provision of support and assistance to crime victims.
Patrol Division The Patrol Division is responsible for the initial uniformed response to a wide variety of calls for service, ranging from minor traffic crashes to critical incidents involving complex criminal investigations.
Support Services Division The Support Services Division is responsible for providing fiscal, ancillary, information and other services for police department operations. Specific functions of the division include the communications center, fiscal management, payroll services and records services.
