Out-of-state officers require EOT Equivalency for Certification.

St. Petersburg College offers local EOT throughout the year.

Out-of-state officers are eligible to receive a state bonus of $5,000 upon hire.

Florida certified applicants must have:

  • 2 years of prior Law Enforcement
  • Under 2 years must meet one of the minimum requirements:
    • 3 years of Active Military service with honorable discharge
    • 30 College Credits

Current Florida state-certified officers are eligible to start out at Step 2 or 3, depending on experience. See Salary, Step Scale and Benefits below for more details.
